In an earlier work, Aman Aheer explores social division and oppression through the metaphor of the chicken headed to slaughter. In a close up depiction of a chicken's face, Aheer locates a sense of universality in the vulnerability and pathos of this animal figure. The bird's brilliantly rendered black eye contains a near-celestial quality, signalling the type of depth and spirit found in those most discarded by society.
