Born in 1956, in Kerala, Surendran Nair investigates the realms of myth in a modern-day context and draws his imagery from both Indian and western mythologies. His surreal figurative works using mediums like watercolour, oil, and printmaking combined with the preposterously long titles have made the artist famous.
